Brian Dunne


Brian was appointed as Executive Director of Aergen in December 2014.  He led the establishment, development and supervision of the Dublin office and was actively involved on a day to day basis in the review and execution of the purchase of all aircraft to date, the related warehouse and revolver financing facilities and the first ABS transaction (HAIL 2016-1) for 19 aircraft.

He is also a director of Ardmore Shipping Corporation and ReAssure Group and Ark Life Assurance Company (subsidiaries of SwissRe in the UK and Ireland).  He was previously the Chairman of Aviva’s health insurance business in Ireland, a director of its Irish life and pensions business and a director of several other private companies.

Brian was the Chief Financial Officer of ACE Aviation Holdings Inc.  (ACE) from 2005 until 2012 and was the President of the company in 2011 and 2012.  ACE was the parent holding company of the reorganized Air Canada and a number of other entities including Aeroplan LP (now AIMIA Inc) and Air Canada Jazz (now Chorus Aviation Inc).  Brian was also a director of Air Canada from its initial public offering in 2006 until 2008.

Prior to joining ACE, Brian was Chief Financial Officer and a director of Aer Lingus Group plc between 2001 and 2005.  He started his career at Arthur Andersen in 1987 and became a partner in 1998.

He is a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in Ireland and holds a Bachelor of Commerce degree and a post graduate diploma in Professional Accounting.
